Soaring Eagle

We spent 3 nights in Soaring Eagle, and it was exactly what we were looking for! It was in a great location – close enough to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but away from the traffic. It was also close to Cades Cove and the main park. Soaring Eagle is away from all of the other cabins and tents, so it was nice and private with excellent views — We caught a great sunrise one morning! The cabin was clean, well-stocked, beds were comfortable. Overall, warm and cozy. We loved enjoying a fire every night.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Soaring Eagle Cabin and I can not say enough good things about this place between the views, the town it’s located in and especially the people that run this resort, there was a miscommunication in an additional package I bought and it wasn’t there when we arrived but they made it right the next night and did an amazing job with it! Thank you, Thunderhead Ridge Getaways! We will definitely be back to try one of the domes next time!

Elk Summit

We booked with Thunderhead Ridge for our wedding week in Townsend. We stayed in the Elk Summit Cabin. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and we were able to bring our 2 pups along with us. They were able to accommodate the rest of our family in their other cabins, tiny home, and a glamping tent. Our family members were also very pleased with their experience. We are looking forward to many more trips to Thunderhead Ridge in the future! The location was perfect with easy access and not far from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Absolutely worth the 8-hour drive for us.

Elk Summit

This is a beautiful cabin in a perfect spot. The porch is a perfect place to sit and watch the fog lift out of the mountains with a cup of coffee, or to watch the stars in the hot tub at night. Everything was clean and the cabin was well-equipped with a wood-burning fireplace. Plenty of privacy from the other cabins. Only a few minutes into Townsend. We’d also recommend the Apple Valley Cafe—had breakfast and dinner there—friendly, food was very good and very reasonably priced.

Mystical Moose

Mystical Moose Cabin is the perfect Smokies getaway. The highlight is the stunning views from the porch, and if the weather is fine, there’s nothing nicer than enjoying a drink on the porch as the sun goes down. Access to the cabin and parking was straightforward. Self-check-in was easy, and Jeanne was a very helpful and responsive host. Inside, there’s a lovely real fire for colder evenings, the kitchen is very well equipped for home cooking, and there’s a small supermarket in Townsend. Townsend is a small, quiet town, so much nicer than Gatlinburg, which we drove through( heaving with people and very touristy), but still an easy drive to plenty of good hiking routes. We went very early in the season, so unfortunately, it was too cold for rafting and zip-lining. Would love to go again!

Perfect little getaway nestled in such a cute town! Can’t express how much we loved the cabin and all the amazing amenities that were included. The little fenced-in area was perfect for the dogs and this cabin was nicely secluded from the rest. Will stay here again next time we visit Townsend!

Soaring Eagle

We drove down from Chicago for 5 nights and had an incredible stay at the cabin with our pup. We left early for day hikes (the cabin is the perfect distance from many fantastic hikes) and got back to enjoy the view from the porch and cook dinner every night. We consider ourselves pretty sophisticated, yet amateur, household cooks, and we found that the kitchen had all the tools we needed but without being cluttered with a lot of extra “stuff,” which really helped make the place feel clean. We did follow another reviewer’s advice and brought a throw blanket for the couch – which was a great idea! The newly paved road up to the cabin and the recent addition of fast-speed internet really shows the owner’s commitment to making this a great rental property. If you are looking for a low-key, secluded getaway in the mountains, this is a great option. We would absolutely come back again.

Also, highly recommend Blackberry Farm Brewery in Maryville. It was the one public place that we went inside during our whole trip, and it was very much worth it.

Elk Summit

This cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway. Every day you’ll be treated to a spectacular view from the back deck of the mountains in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. On cool evenings we opened the door and enjoyed the view while bundled up on the sofa with the fireplace roaring. The hot tub is also a great spot for looking up at the stars on a clear night! The cabin is located close to an entrance to the park. Nearby are a handful of restaurants and a grocery store. The kitchen is completely stocked with cookware and there’s a grill on the back deck. This place really has everything! Your hosts are very friendly and have a smooth self-check-in process that worked flawlessly for us. I highly recommend this cabin if you’re looking for a quiet, cozy, getaway in the mountains near the National Park!

Our stay at the Mystic Mouse was lovely. We all enjoyed the hot tub and views after busy days at Dollywood & hiking. They communicated so quickly with any questions we had. Beds and furnishings were all cozy & the fully outfitted kitchen was a win. The location was far enough away from the bustle to relax, but quick enough to go do the things we wanted. Thanks!

We stayed at Wolf Lodge. Everything was wonderful. Townsend TN is the peaceful and beautiful side of the Smokey’s. After a wonderful day of hiking, a relaxing dip in the hot tub with beautiful views, and a sauna ended the day perfectly. They offered everything. We made breakfast with a full kitchen, packed a picnic lunch, and checked out the local restaurants for dinner. A great place to relax and disconnect. Thank you so very much for a wonderful week!

Soaring Eagle

This place is truly a gem. The view is fantastic, the cabin is cozy & comfortable with plenty of space, and Jean and Chelsey were extremely communicative and provided tons of personalized recommendations. The wifi works great – we were even able to stream a movie, which I was not expecting in the mountains – and the drive up is smooth (I was nervous based on earlier reviews, but the paving makes a big difference and we were able to handle it even at night with no problems). The blinds are also great – I was worried that we would get woken up too early with the mountain sun, but they do a great job of keeping the light out! It takes a bit of time to get to the park – 45 min for the closer hikes, up to 2.5 hrs for the farther ones – but we had been looking for the quieter side of the Smokies, and so anticipated this would add a bit of time, and it is 100% worth it! We highly recommend it for your Smokey Mountain vacation!

Elk Summit

We absolutely loved it here! The unbelievable view, cozy interior with fireplace and record player, and the hot tub on the deck made this hands down our favorite cabin that we’ve ever stayed at, and we’re already planning a return trip! The road up to the cabin was intimidating the first time we drove up but got easier and easier with each trip, and our two-wheel drive Rav4 had no issues. We had a great meal and beers at The Abbey while listening to live music by the river, and enjoyed some beautiful hikes in the Tremont area. The highlight of the trip though was seeing bears at Cades Cove, including Cubs up in a tree! This was a trip we’ll never forget, in large part due to this incredible cabin.

Cabin is exactly as pictured, very cute! The mountain view is honestly better than pictured, it’s absolutely stunning. They provide a lot of extras- firewood, games, and a good amount of kitchen supplies. Clean and adorably decorated. We had a great time! Had a small issue with the hot tub but they sent someone quickly, and she was super friendly and fixed it right up!

Wonderful little cabin in the woods! Located close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but without the crazy prices of either area. Right off the main (and only) road of Townsend, so you don’t have to go far for food/supplies. Nicely secluded, porch with amazing views and a hot tub, plus a flat spot for kids or 4-legged kids to play. Tested the sauna, but as it was 80 out every day, it didn’t get much use. Winter would be fantastic here! Well maintained fireplace and a ton of wood for those cozy nights. Highly recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle as the driveway is about 45 degrees straight up a mountain, but maintained well enough to still be doable with a 2WD. This area was once a dry county, so packaged adult drinks are available close by, but anything else will be a drive. Can’t say enough good things about this cabin! First time in Tennessee, or seeing mountains, but will be back!

Soaring Eagle

The host was great and very easy to communicate with! The view…AMAZING. every bit as wonderful as you would think! Prettiest view I’ve ever had at an Airbnb. It was very private and quiet. The cabin is not visible to others and bc it’s at the top of the hill, no traffic drives by! We loved the hot tub with a view, and we loved the fireplace too!! So cozy (bring snuggle blankets if that’s your thing though!) Very close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and about 30 min from Dollywood! HIGHLY recommend this place if you want to visit the area!!!
